Noise & Vibration
Unwanted noise and vibration can be a serious problem.
Whether you are required by your local authority to monitor noise and vibrations or have opted to because of complaints, to safeguard employees or to ensure noise levels are recorded and managed, Turnkey can offer accurate measuring instrumentation to help.
Some noise is unavoidable, but increasingly organisations are expected to manage their noise levels and demonstrate that they are taking action to minimise noise which could be a nuisance to local residents, other business or have a negative impact on the environment.
Our noise monitoring equipment is easy to use, measures accurately and can be used in a wide range of scenarios for measuring, analysis and reporting.
Some typical uses of our noise and vibration monitoring equipment include:
- Construction sites
- Quarries
- Industrial sites, such as waste sorting sites
- Oil and gas plants
- Road and site traffic
- Airports
- Railways
- Underground trains
- Outdoor events, such as concerts, festivals and sporting events
- Motorsports
Unacceptable noise levels can have an impact on public health and the environment. The impact can range from sleep disruption and speech interference to reduced productivity and hearing loss.
People are now more aware of the impact of noise, and controlling noise levels in inner cities and built-up areas is increasingly important.
Our noise monitoring equipment measures commonly used noise parameters such as LAeq, LAmax, LA10, LA90. Our noise monitor can also be used with our Osiris or Topas air pollution monitors to provide a complete monitoring solution. Where there is no power at the site, it can be used off-grid with our solar and wind power system and with external leisure batteries.
iDBplus Noise Monitor
The Turnkey® internet iDB provides remote on-site multichannel monitoring of noise with data logging and automatic alarms via email, text messaging, or a visual traffic light system. Alarm types and thresholds for vibration and noise are configured by the user and their thresholds can be set to depend on the time of day.
iDB connects to Turnkey’s AirQWeb cloud server. This allows integrated monitoring and control of noise, vibration, dust, meteorology, and air quality on your site. Live and historical Leq, L10, L90, Lmax, LCpeak and other readings are available to view on your computer, phone or tablet, anywhere, anytime. The reporting interval can be as fast as every minute.
The iDB can also be used alongside our range of air pollution monitors at the same installation, and powered off-grid with our solar and wind power system or external leisure batteries.
iDB gives Class 1 performance over a 95 dB dynamic range, so 30 dB to 120 dB SPL is covered in a single range. Uniquely, iDB measures both dB(A) and dB(C) frequency weightings simultaneously, with F or S time weightings. As well as Leq over the reporting interval, iDB also reports statistical values such as L10, L90 and Lmax in both dB(A) and dB(C) simultaneously. Other statistical sound indicators over arbitrary periods can be calculated within AirQWeb from the uploaded readings.
For Class 1 noise monitoring simultaneously with vibration monitoring, see our iVIBE monitor.

iVIBEpeli plus noise & Vibration
The iVIBE is Turnkey’s combined noise and vibration monitor. It offers users a simple and reliable approach to monitoring noise and vibration on-site in any environment.
It will provide users with the measurements and data required to effectively monitor noise and vibration levels and ensure compliance of your site.
The iVIBE was developed with internet connectivity so sites can be monitored remotely making it the perfect solution for anyone needing to access data about remote or multiple sites from another location. Data is available in real-time for monitoring, analysis and reporting and can be accessed on PC, mobile or tablet from anywhere as long as there is an internet connection.
The iVIBEseismic comes complete with an internal NiMH rechargeable battery which enables continued operation and recording for up to 48 hours in the event of a site power outage ensuring you are never left without the crucial data. It can also be used off-grid where there is no power at the site, with our solar power kits.
iVIBE works with AirQWeb to provide a secure online platform for recording, analysing and reporting data collected from the device. This allows integrated monitoring and control of noise, vibration, dust, meteorology, and air quality on your site. Live and historical PPV, Leq, L10, L90 and other readings are available to view at home or in the office on your PC or on your mobile or tablet anywhere you an internet connection.
iVIBE results can also be displayed in 3D site mapping with 3D imagery, live readings and site placements shown on Google® Earth.
